So when you are a blogger and actively sharing your life with the people who follow you on your social media handles, it's pretty obvious to state that a lot of people know your s***.
Sometimes you can actually forget just how much you share with complete and utter strangers and to be honest, it doesn't really matter too much what Tom, Dick and Harry think but I'll tell you someone who will.. Your future boss.
Now I'm not saying delete your Twitter exactly but you should definitely hold back on sharing with the world that you're chilling in your pants and watching sponge bob square (happened to a friend of a friend of a friend).
There has to be a line between relatable content and over sharing, right?
I'm at a point in my life where I'm looking for potential career paths within marketing and media..
There's that level of importance in maintaining a relatable image to your viewers.. sharing your story and being able to express your emotions.
That connection is so important but do I really want my boss to know of my 'bad days'? I'm supposed to be bulletproof, right? cough, cough.
My problem is this, where do you hold back?
It's so easy to find potencial employees online nowadays though, isn't it.
I'm not saying I'm filling out an application for big brother when I'm a teacher but you get there jist.. your future boss isn't going to enjoy your latest tweet that publicly outed a friend who bailed on you for another guy blah blah blah.
We should all remind ourselves on what we choose to share with the world now and then!
For me, blogging is a big part of my life and my direction is within this industry.
Positive and negative attributes are a real part of life and such topics for example mental illnesses, equality, etc SHOULD be addressed more on a social level and I don't think that should be something we hide.. What do you think about this? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
